Mon, June 6 (MExN): The District Development Manager (DDM) Office of the National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) was inaugurated in Mon district on Saturday, with officials expressing hope that the new office would strengthen coordination among stakeholders and accelerate developmental initiatives in the region.
The office was inaugurated by Deputy Commissioner of Mon, Wennyei Konyak, in the presence of district officials, bankers, representatives of line departments and development partners.
Speaking on the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner highlighted the immense developmental potential of Mon district and stressed the need for convergence of various government schemes and programmes to maximise their impact.
He thanked NABARD's Regional Office and Head Office for establishing the DDM Office in Mon and expressed confidence that it would strengthen coordination between NABARD and district-level stakeholders, facilitating more effective implementation of development initiatives.
The Deputy Commissioner also emphasised the importance of concerted efforts by government departments, banks and development agencies to ensure inclusive, sustainable and holistic growth in the district.
Deputy General Manager of NABARD O P Mounglang reiterated the institution's commitment to strengthening rural livelihoods, infrastructure development and credit flow through close collaboration with stakeholders. He highlighted NABARD's role as the apex development financial institution promoting sustainable and inclusive rural development.
Earlier, District Development Manager of NABARD, Mon, Abigail Rai welcomed the gathering and gave an overview of NABARD and its developmental interventions.
Chief Manager of State Bank of India, Mon Branch, Robert Zosangliana, Branch Manager of Nagaland State Cooperative Bank Ltd., Chemkai Konyak, and a representative of Eleutheros Christian Society, a NABARD partner agency, also addressed the gathering.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks and an interaction among stakeholders, reaffirming their collective commitment towards the development of Mon district.
