Kohima, February 2 (MExN): The 3rd edition for the Men’s & 1st Edition for Women in the discipline of Naga wrestling as part of the 38th meet 2025 of Phek District Sports Association (PDSA) will take place on February 4 at Phek town. The wrestling event will be managed by Chakhesang Wrestling Association (CWA). Hoisting of CWA flag will be done by Chizovoyi Soho, president VDB Union, RD Block Phek.
The programme will be led by CWA vice president Zazhota Dawhuo while Khriisazo Nyekha, Associate Pastor, Phek Town Baptist Church will invoke God’s blessings. CWA president Vezohü Rüho will deliver welcome address while CWA assistant technical secretary Pozoto Shijoh will administer oath to the wrestlers. Naga wrestling (Men) will feature 90kg, 75kg, and 65kg categories and 60kg and 50kg categories for Women. The prizes for Naga style wrestling category for both men and women is sponsored by VDB Union, RD Block Phek. CWA general secretary Kukhoto Venyo informed that the Naga wrestling event will take place right after the inaugural function on February 4. Weight measurement start from 2:00 PM onwards on February 3.
Meanwhile, the inaugural function of the 38th PDSA Meet 2025 will be graced by Nagaland’s Power & Parliamentary Affairs Minister KG Kenye as the special guest on February 4 at 10:00 AM. PDSA president Nezosa Tetseo will deliver presidential address while administration of oath will be done by PDSA sports secretary Punürü Nienu.
