Nagaland CM Dr Neiphiu Rio condoles demise of APO former president

Kohima, January 3 (MExN): Nagaland Chief Minister Dr Neiphiu Rio on Saturday expressed deep sadness over the demise of Kekhriengulie Linyii, former President of the Angami Public Organisation, who passed away after a prolonged illness on January 3, at Eden Medical Centre, Dimapur. 

“Kekhriengulie was personally known to me, and I remember him as a calm and composed gentleman, known for his honesty and selfless nature. Before devoting himself fully to social service, he served the Government of Nagaland in various capacities with dedication and sincerity. After his retirement as Additional Director and HoD, Department Land Records & Survey, he continued his service to society as the President of the Angarni Public Organisation,” Rio stated in a condolence message. 

At the same time, it stated that during his tenure, Linyii took up several important issues concerning the Naga people and stood firmly for justice and truth, adding that his commitment to the welfare of society was evident, always extended help to those in need. 

“His passing is a great loss, especially to the Angami community, and the void left behind will be difficult to fill. While he will be deeply missed, we thank God for the meaningful life he lived and pray that his noble legacy continues to inspire us,” it stated. 

Furthermore, Dr Rio extended heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family and prays that the Almighty grants them strength, comfort, and courage to bear this irreparable loss. 

Kudawhi Union, Dimapur

The Kudawhi Union, Dimapur expressed profound sorrow and condolences on the demise of Late Kekhriengulie Linyii, former President of KUDAWHI Union, Dimapur, former President of the Angami People’s Organization (APO), and a senior retired Additional Director and Head of Department (HOD), Directorate of Land Records and Survey, Government of Nagaland, who passed away on the morning of January 3.

A press update from the union described Linyii as a dedicated, upright, and principled bureaucrat who served the government and the people with integrity and distinction, adding that his commitment to ethical administration, discipline, and selfless service earned him deep respect across communities. 

At the same time, it stated that as a community leader, he rendered exemplary service and provided wise guidance, leaving behind a legacy that will continue to inspire future generations.

“The Union deeply acknowledges his invaluable contributions to KUDAWHI Union, the Angami community, and the State of Nagaland, and salutes a life lived with honour and purpose,” it stated.

The union further extended its sincere condolences to the bereaved family and prays that the Almighty grants them strength, comfort, and peace during this moment of profound grief.
