Nagaland Cricketers recognised at NECDC Achievers’ Nite in Gangtok

DIMAPUR, APRIL 7 (MExN): Cricketers from Nagaland received multiple accolades at the 4th North East Cricket Development Council (NECDC) Achievers’ Nite, held in Gangtok and hosted by the Sikkim Cricket Association.

The event celebrated notable performances from the 2024–25 BCCI domestic season. Jonathan Rongsen was named North East Player of the Season (Male) for his all-round performance, having scored 769 runs and taken 32 wickets. He also received the Best Batter award in the Senior Men’s category.

In the U-16 Boys category, Aloto Sumi was awarded Best Batter for scoring 245 runs in nine innings and Best Bowler with 27 wickets in eight innings.

In the U-23 category, Mughavi Sumi was recognised as Best Batter with 557 runs in 14 innings, while Yugandhar Singh was named Best Wicketkeeper, recording 15 stumpings in 10 innings.
The Nagaland Senior Men’s Cricket Team was also felicitated for retaining its Elite Division status in the Ranji Trophy.

The Nagaland Cricket Association (NCA), led by Honorary Secretary Hyunilo Anilo Khing, represented the state at the event. The recognitions mark a continued upward trajectory for cricket in Nagaland.
