Nagaland Fire Department simplifies NOC application process

Kohima, November 17 (MExN): The Department of Fire & Emergency Services, Nagaland, has announced a streamlined procedure for obtaining a No Objection Certificate (NOC) or Fire Safety Certificate to ease the burden on applicants and reduce processing time.

According to a DIPR report, applicants are now required to submit a duly filled application form (Form “D” of the NFES Act, 2021) addressed directly to the Officer-in-Charge of their local fire station. The application must be accompanied by required documents, including the building plan, site plan, layout plan, and fire safety measure plan.

The department stated that after a site inspection is conducted by Inspection Officers or Assistant Inspection Officers to verify fire and life safety installations, the Officer-in-Charge will forward the report to the Fire Headquarters only after the premises have fully complied with all safety criteria.

Inspection Officers have also been directed to maintain detailed records of all inspections, including the number of site visits, inspection date and time, distance from the fire station, and type of occupancy, and to provide this data to the Fire Headquarters as required.
