Nagaland gets Rs.8325.97 lakh under RMSA

Dimapur, November 7 (MExN): The Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) has finalized approval of DPRs for all the north east states for 2011-2012 for implementation of the flagship programme of Rashtriya Madhyamik Shiksha Abhiyan (RMSA). According to the minutes of Project Approval Board meeting of eight north east states, Nagaland has been allocated Rs.8325.97 lakh (Rs. 6471.11 for civil works/infrastructure and Rs.1854.86 for salaries and maintenance).  The fund allocations for other north east states are (in lakhs): Tripura Rs.5629.22, Manipur- Rs.5167.49, Arunachal Pradesh- Rs. 4528.75, Mizoram- Rs. 4052.59, Assam- Rs. 3691.54, Sikkim- Rs.705.23 and Meghalaya Rs.330.27. RMSA is a flagship programme for universalisation of secondary education in which the Central Government provides 90% shares while the State governments contribute only 10% of the cost of the project. Nagaland is one of the few states in India to have perspective plan of RMSA unto 2016-17.
