Kohima, June 24 (MExN): The Nagaland Government has made online registration and renewal mandatory for all establishments covered under the State’s Shops & Establishments Act and the Factories Act, with immediate effect.
According to the notification dated June 8, 2026, all employers, occupiers, managers of factories, shop owners, commercial establishments, entrepreneurs, consultants and other stakeholders must now submit all applications including those for registration and renewal, amendment and related services, exclusively through the Labour Department’s digital portal at https://labour.nagal.md.gov.in.
A DIPR report stated that the Labour Department has discontinued the acceptance of physical or manual applications from all stakeholders. The directive applies every applicant to upload all required documents and information correctly on the prescribed digital platform.
It stated that the transition to the fully online system is designed to enhance transparency, reduce processing times, and provide more convenient and accessible services to employers and business owners.
For stakeholders requiring assistance or guidance in navigating the new online system, the government has directed them to contact their respective District Labour Offices. All concerned parties have been urged to take note of the changes and extend their full cooperation to ensure the successful implementation of the digital service delivery mechanism.
