Kohima, June 9 (MExN): Nagaland Minister for Health & Family Welfare P Paiwang Konyak has been acknowledged by the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India, for registering as a Ni-Kshay Mitra under the Prime Minister's TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyan.
According to a press release issued by the IEC Bureau, Directorate of Health & Family Welfare, the recognition was accorded in appreciation of the Minister's commitment to supporting persons undergoing tuberculosis (TB) treatment through nutritional and other food supplements.
The Ni-Kshay Mitra initiative seeks to improve treatment outcomes and enhance the well-being of TB patients while contributing to the national goal of eliminating tuberculosis.
The recognition reflects the Minister's commitment to public health and his contribution towards the vision of a TB-free India, the release stated, adding that such participation also encourages wider community involvement in the fight against tuberculosis.
The acknowledgement from the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare was handed over to the Minister by Dr M Margaret Yhome, Director (FW), Department of Health & Family Welfare, Kohima.
