Nagaland NCC cadets bag medals at Jorhat inter group competition

Kohima, August 26 (MExN): Five cadets of 24 Nagaland (I) Coy NCC Kohima have bagged medals at inter group competition of Thal Sainik Camp in Jorhat.  

Thal Sanik Camp (TSC), which is a true test of physical and mental stamina amongst cadets, is conducted every year by NER Directorate NCC as a competition. Teams from all the NCC groups in the North East participate in the competition.  

Seven Groups of North East Region NCC, including Kohima Group NCC, participated in the ten-day event which began on August 18. The Kohima contingent comprised of 25 boys and 25 girls.  

A press release from 24 Nagaland (I) Coy NCC informed that the Kohima Group NCC won the runner up title in the competition. Meanwhile, five cadets of the Group bagged medals in various events.  

Cpl Stephen Yanthan and Cpl Shankar Thapa bagged Gold and Silver medal respectively in Health and Hygiene, which is conducted as written test. Cpl Chubanuksung Jamir bagged Gold medal in Judging Distance and Field Signal Test, L Cpl Lacit Konwar bagged Silver medal in Obstacle Course Competition, and CQMS Vikepesie Terhüja bagged Silver medal in Firing.  

Meanwhile, the release informed that a total of 25 NCC cadets (13 boys and 12 girls) have been selected for further training and forming part of NER Directorate NCC team which will participate in inter directorate competition of Thal Sanik Camp scheduled to be held at New Delhi in September this year.
