Nagaland Upa-Lokayukta swearing-in on Jan 16
Kohima, January 14 (MExN): The Nagaland government has nominated the state’s Chief Secretary to administer the oath of office to the newly appointed Upa-Lokayukta. The ceremony will be held at 12:00 hours on January 16 in the Conference Hall of the Nagaland Civil Secretariat in Kohima, a DIPR update informed. All administrative heads of departments have been requested to attend the oath-taking event.

 

FGN, NNC meeting on January 26

Kohima, January 14 (MExN): The Naga National Council (NNC) and the Federal Government of Nagaland (FGN) will hold a formal meeting on January 26, 2026, at the Transit Peace Camp in Kohima.
According to an official FGN communication, the meeting is scheduled to begin at 10:00 and will be attended by central and regional authorities of the NNC/FGN. Leaders of the Naga Women Federation (NWF), the Naga Youth Federation (NYF), along with high-ranking officers of the Naga Army under the NNC/FGN, have been requested to attend the meeting and ensure their participation.


Mon DC issues public advisory on AR firing practice

Mon, January 14 (MExN): Deputy Commissioner, Mon, Wennyei Konyak, NCS, has informed the general public of Mon town that the 42 Assam Rifles will be conducting firing and explosive practice as part of its routine training at the Unit Firing Range, Tactical Headquarters Mon, from January 16 to January 31, 2026, between 7 am and 7 pm. During the period, loud sounds of firing and explosions are likely to be heard in and around Mon town and adjoining areas. The public has therefore been advised not to panic. The Deputy Commissioner has further advised residents to avoid movement in the vicinity of the firing range and camp during the said period and to ensure the safety of children and livestock.
