Anderson Theological College, in collaboration with Lapiye Centre for Mental Well-being, organised a special mental health awareness programme under the theme “Together We Can: Lead With Love”. The programme was held in the college chapel hall on April 7. The resource persons for the seminar were Lovitoli Awomi, Counsellor & Psychologist, Founder of Lapiye Centre for Mental Well-being, Dimapur and Lika Awomi, School Counsellor & Teacher. The primary objective of the event was to create awareness about stress, mental health challenges, and overall emotional well-being of students and family of ATC with knowledge and coping strategies to lead a mentally healthy life.
ARCH Shokhuvi, in collaboration with Blood Centre, District Hospital Dimapur, organised a Blood Donation camp on the occasion of its upcoming 21st raising Day. A total of 42 units of blood were collected during the camp. The event was conducted in the presence of DIG Dr JC Anal, Medical superintendent, Comdt Dr CI Biradar, (MD community Medicine), ComdtDrCH Saleo Mao, 2IC Dr Tasneem MS (MD Pathology) and other dignitaries and officer. The medical team from Blood Centre was led by Dr Rongsemar Longkumer and other healthcare professionals.Department of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources, Shamator organised a training on ‘Best Management Practice and Fresh Water Fish Farming’ under the education training and extension programme and implemented by the Department of Fisheries & Aquatic Resources, Government of Nagaland at Shamator on April 11, with Sajamo M Humtsoe, Fishery Inspector as the resource person. A total of 33 students from Class 7 of Government Middle School, Midland participated in the programme. The Nagaland Baptist Church Council, Women Department (NBCCWD) held its women board meeting and Lead Like Jesus (LLJ) training from April 9 – 11 at NBCC Platinum Hall, NBCC Office, Kohima. Resource persons were from Ao Baptist Arogo Mungdang (ABAM) namely Toshi Sanglir, Youth Secretary, ABAM; Teka Imchen, Youth Coordinator, ABAM and Shilu Imchen, Pastor, Mokokchung Town Baptist Church. All together 34 members attended the training.Norman Putsure College, Chümoukedima organised an orientation programme for the National Service Scheme (NSS) with Bendangangshi, Program Officer, Department of Sociology, Eastern Christian College, Dimapur as the resource person. With over five years of experience in NSS, Bendangangshi shared insights into the origin, objectives and structure of the scheme. He emphasised the importance of government-led community service initiatives aimed at rural development and social responsibility. Awareness programme on roads safety organised by the District Administration Tening was held with Imliwabang Aier, EAC Tening as the resource person at Old Town hall, Tening, Peren on April 11. Aier highlighted and encouraged the gathering to follow rules and regulations in place for road safety. Further, he briefed on compensation for hit and run cases, road signs, data of road accidents and road line markings etc. The programme was attended by students and teachers from SFS Tening, Baptist High School, Zeliangrong Heraka School and Government Higher Secondary school Tening as well as leaders from Tening town. The board discussed the transfer of Tsuthu Village, Pungrunger Village, Huhdanru Village, Rurrur Village and Shungkiu Village under Yimkhiung Villages to Shamator Headquarter. Construction of Police Stations at Sotokur and Chessore; construction of BDO office and Staff quarter at Shamator; renewal of Shamator Community Development Project Society (SCDP); Proposal for establishment of various departmental offices in the district, and organising Inter Departmental tournament in the district was approved and forwarded to the concerned department for final approval by the government.
