The 4th semester Sociology honours students of Fazl Ali College, Mokokchung visited Longkhum village as part of the community extension service based on the theme ‘Exploring community based tourism initiatives in Longkhum village’ on February 24. Rongsenmeren, an alumni of FAC and a member of Longkhum Students’ Union gave a brief presentation on the various tourism activities being carried out in the village by the village Community Tourism Committee. He highlighted the Longkhum village tourism website that was launched last year and how it is helping tourists to get better knowledge and insights about the various tourist attraction places in the village. He also pointed that community tourism is growing in the village, though at a very slow pace. After a brief discussion session, the team of 42 students along with five teachers visited various historical and tourist places in Longkhum village.

A Memorandum of Understanding under Corporate Social Responsibly was signed between Bank of Baroda and Nagaland Police on February 23 where special police forces salary package was introduced. Some of the major benefits under the scheme are free personal accident insurance benefits for all salary personal cover on-duty and off-duty, higher education cover for the wards of police personnel, transportation of mortal remains, PAI cover from age between 18 to 80 years or up to the age of retirement and inclusion of death in active operation in personnel accident insurance. A two-day long 3rd edition of Erudite Fest 2024 of St Joseph’s College (Autonomous) Jakhama culminated today. Nunese Sale (Contractor & Proprietor of Nune’s Construction) and an Alumni of SJC (A) delivered speech based on the theme of the Fest- “Envision, Exert & Excel”. Mezanuo Ngukha, Toshimoa Jamir and Keneisenuo Sorhie also performed at the programme. Earlier, Zasivonuo Thapo and Leah A. Yeptho compered day 2 event. The programme commenced with the Quiz Competition followed by Upcycle Fashion and a speech by M. Phira (Honorary Faculty & Proprietor of Achievers Academy) and the screening of a short movie thereafter respectively. Alense belted a euphonious song trailed by a fervent choreography by the group Pink Pearls. 
A special seminar on the topic, Union Budget 2024-25 ‘critical analysis and way forward for the Indian economy’ was organised by the Research Cell in Collaboration with the Department of Economics, Yingli College, Longleng at Borgohain Hall on February 23. Dr Mithilesh Kumar Jha, Assistant Professor Department of Economics, Yingli College discussed the importance of a union budget in India. Konchem, Assistant Professor, Yingli College highlighted the budget 2024-25 and said that this government’s humane and inclusive approaches to development is  marked and deliberate departure from the earlier approach of ‘provisioning up-to-village level’. Chairperson of Nagaland State Commission for Women, W Nginyeih Konyak along with two other members paid a two-day visit to Zunheboto district to assess the livability, safety and protection of women inmates at the district jail, hospital, police station and one stop center. On February 23, they visited the District Hospital and Women Police Station and interacted with the women patients and women police on duty. The team also had a brief meeting with the Deputy Commissioner and Superintendent of Police Zunheboto.
