Nagaland: NTA Championship: DYR&S emerge champs

The Directorate of Youth Resources & Sports (DYR&S) team emerged the overall champion of the 31st Nagaland State Taekwondo Championship 2018 which concluded here today at Indira Gandhi Stadium under the aegis of Nagaland Taekwondo Association (NTA).  

The DYR&S team bagged 21 Gold, 2 silver and 1 Bronze during the two day long championship.  

Dimapur District Taekwondo Association with 15 Gold, six silver and seven bronze were the runners-up.  

Tuensang District Taekwondo Association was adjusted as the best disciplined team.  

Altogether, 155 players from 10 teams representing Kohima, Dimapur, Peren, Mokokchung, Kiphire, Longleng, Mon and Tuensang District Taekwondo Associations including Directorate of Youth Resources & Sports and Police teams joined the tournament.  

The closing ceremony was graced by Rato Pusa, Additional Director, Youth Resources & Sports as special invitee.  

Pusa urged upon the players to maintain punctuality to excel in the field of games and sports.  

Neingulie Nakhro spoke on behalf of the parents/guardians. The closing function was compered by NTA Secretary Neitho-o Kuotsu while NTA Vice President T. Alem Aier delivered welcome address.  

YR&S Director, Imtirenla Jamir was also present at the closing ceremony.
