DIMAPUR, JANUARY 19 (MExN): Nagaland Police has issued a clarification on the selection process for the Nagaland Police Constable (GD) Recruitment 2025, specifically regarding shortlisting for the written test and viva-voce.
In a press release issued by the PRO, Police Headquarters, Nagaland Police said the clarification is in accordance with the terms and conditions of its advertisement dated September 30, 2025, particularly Serial Number 6(B) and Note (1) and (2).
The police stated that only candidates who have successfully qualified the Physical and Medical Standard Test and the Physical Efficiency Test will be considered for selection to appear in the written test. The selection will be done in the prescribed ratio of 1:10 against posts allotted under the approved Tribal Ratio formula.
Explaining the process with an example, Nagaland Police said that if the total posts allotted for a district are 150, comprising 100 male and 50 female posts, the shortlist for the written test in the 1:10 ratio would be 1,000 male candidates and 500 female candidates. It was further clarified that candidates may be shortlisted in excess of the 1:10 ratio in the event of a tie in marks obtained in the Physical Efficiency Test. However, the police emphasized that all candidates who qualify the Physical Efficiency Test may not necessarily be eligible to appear for the written test.
The clarification further stated that the number of candidates to be called for the viva-voce will be in the ratio of 1:3, as notified in the same advertisement. Using the same example of 150 posts for a district, the shortlist for the viva-voce would comprise 300 male candidates and 150 female candidates.
Nagaland Police added that, similarly, all candidates who qualify the written test may not be eligible to appear for the viva-voce.
