DIMAPUR, NOVEMBER 15 (MExN): The XL Nagaland Police Duty-Cum-Sports Meet 2024 continued with intense competition on Day 5, showcasing a variety of sporting events across disciplines.

The boxing finals under five weight categories concluded with thrilling bouts. The list of winners has been made available for reference.

In football, the first quarterfinals saw the 6th NAP Battalion defeat DEF Mokokchung 6-2, followed by a commanding 4-1 victory by the 1st NAP Battalion over DEF Kohima in the second quarterfinals. The third and fourth quarterfinals are scheduled for November 16, where the 2nd NAP Battalion will clash with DEF Wokha at 8:00 a.m., and DEF Tuensang will take on DEF Mon at 1:00 p.m. Both matches will take place on the newly installed AstroTurf ground at the police complex.
Volleyball action heats up on Day 6 with semifinal matches. The 14th NAP (IR) will face DEF Zunheboto in the first semifinal, while CP Dimapur will take on DEF Kiphire in the second.


Shooting events commenced on Day 5, with medals awarded in four pistol competition variants. The winners’ names have been shared for reference.
In badminton, DEF Tuensang emerged victorious in the team event finals, with the 6th NAP Battalion securing second place and the 3rd NAP Battalion taking third.
Additionally, Day 6 will mark the opening of the Family Welfare Stall at the hockey ground in NAPTC at 10:00 a.m. Smti. Vinita Sharma, President of the Nagaland Police Family Welfare Association, will attend as the special guest.
