Kohima, November 1 (MExN): The Kohima Baptist Pastors’ Fellowship (KBPF), in collaboration with the Nagaland Baptist Church Council (NBCC) and the Nagaland Joint Christian Forum (NJCF), will organise a reception for Rev Franklin Graham in Kohima on November 30, marking a spiritual milestone more than five decades after his father's historic visit to Nagaland.
Rev Graham, the President and CEO of the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association and Samaritan’s Purse, will be the guest of honour at the special reception programme at the Indira Gandhi Stadium, according to a KBPF statement.
The event holds profound significance for Nagaland, as it comes over five decades after the state was visited by his father, the late Rev Dr Billy Graham, in 1972. That visit is remembered for leaving a “deep and lasting impact, inspiring generations of believers across the region.”
The KBPF stated that the upcoming programme is envisioned as a “united gathering for thanksgiving, prayer, and spiritual renewal.” It aims to celebrate the enduring Christian faith and values foundational to Naga society and serve as a “powerful call for unity and moral reflection.”
The fellowship's leadership expressed hope that the event will “strengthen fellowship among all denominations, promote peace, and reaffirm Nagaland’s identity as a state of strong faith and resilience.”
KBPF President Rev Dr Ruokuovilie Sachü and Secretary Dr SN Among Jamir said, “This gathering is a unique opportunity to stand together in a united expression of gratitude to God.”
They invited believers across Nagaland to join in prayer for the event and attend the reception.
