Nagaland Governor La Ganesan today said that there has been a consistent growth “in our GST collection over the years, which shows the success of the various measures we have taken for improving our tax collection.”

It is also a testament to our growing economy. In this financial year, our overall GST target is 71397.94 crore, and as per the figures up till December 2023, we have already collected 7995.35 crore, and are hopeful of achieving the target, Ganesan said in his address to fourth session of 14th Nagaland Legislative Assembly in Kohima.

However, given our requirements, we need to make even greater efforts, he said.

Stating that given the size of our economy and the level of public spending, there is still a good scope for increasing our tax and non-tax revenue collections in the years ahead, he hoped that these issues will be suitably addressed and discussed during this Budget Session.
