Dimapur, April 1 (MExN): Two marksmen from Nagaland have secured qualification for the National Shooting Championship Competition 2025 following their strong performance at the 07324 India Open Big Bore Rifle and Pistol Competition, held from March 23 to 31 at the Army Marksmanship Unit in Mhow, Indore, Madhya Pradesh.
Representing the Aries Rifle and Pistol Shooting Academy, Khelo India Centre, Dimapur, Kimatsung Jamir and Lanu Akumtoshi Jamir competed in the Men’s and Master Men’s Individual categories respectively.
Kimatsung Jamir, who already holds the distinction of being a Renowned Shot in the 10m Air Rifle, 50m Rifle Peep Sight Prone, and 50m Rifle Peep Sight 3 Position events, posted a score of 285 out of 300. He finished in 41st position in the highly competitive Men’s Individual category.
Meanwhile, Lanu Akumtoshi Jamir stood out in the Master Men’s Individual category, finishing 10th with a score of 278 out of 300.
With these performances, both shooters have officially qualified for the National Shooting Championship Competition 2025, continuing to put Nagaland on the national shooting map.
