Kohima, August 20 (MExN): A send-off programme for the Under-23 Nagaland Wrestling Association (NWA) team participating in the upcoming U-23 Free Style, Greco Roman Style and Women Wrestling Championship was held today in Kohima.
The championship, being organised by the Jharkhand State Wrestling Association under the aegis of the Wrestling Federation of India (WFI), is scheduled to be held in Ranchi, Jharkhand from August 22 to 24.
As per an NWA release, three U-23 wrestlers from the association will compete at the event: Nosezonu Kuotsu in the 50 kg category (Free Style); Kusayi Tsutso in the 74 kg category (Free Style); and Venu Vadeo in the 97 kg category (Greco Roman).
The team is led by Vivolie Kezo, NWA President, and Vesavolü Soho, NWA Women Coordinator.
Meanwhile, at the send-off programme at the NWA Office, Neikhwezü Venuh, Deacon CBCK, exhorted and blessed the team.
It was chaired by Seyielhouvi Nagi, NWA Publicity Secretary, while a short speech was delivered by Keneilel Rote, NWA Treasurer.
The Association further appealed to the wrestling fraternity to uphold the team in prayer.
