Nagaland to host first-ever Grandmaster chess coaching camp

Kohima, March 25 (MExN): The Nagaland Chess Association (NCA), under the aegis of the All India Chess Federation, is set to organise the state’s first-ever Grandmaster Chess Coaching Camp the Nagaland Olympic Association Hall Kohima from March 27 to 29.  A total of 40 chess players from Nagaland have registered for the three-day training programme to be which will be conducted by Tejas Bakre, Gujarat’s first Grandmaster (GM).

He is among India’s top chess players and a professional coach with the title of FIDE Senior Trainer, informed an NCA release. 

The camp aims to provide expert training, covering both theoretical and practical aspects of chess, it said.    It will focus on identifying and correcting weaknesses, strengthening fundamental skills, improving strategic thinking, refining opening repertoire, and enhancing tactical abilities, it added. 

According to the NCA, this will be the first chess coaching camp in Nagaland led by a Grandmaster.  This will be the second visit by a GM to the state, following the Chess Olympiad Torch Relay at The Heritage, Kohima, in 2022, it added.
