LCSC of Nagaland University has commenced live screening of the FIFA World Cup 2026 on a giant screen at the University Auditorium.
Kohima, Jul 7 (MExN): The Lumami Campus Sports Club (LCSC) of Nagaland University (NU) has commenced live screening of the FIFA World Cup 2026 on a giant screen at the University Auditorium, in an initiative aimed at fostering camaraderie, sportsmanship and a vibrant campus culture.
The screening, which will continue throughout the tournament until the grand finale, is open to all members of the university fraternity, including teaching and non-teaching staff, research scholars, students and their family members residing on the Lumami campus, stated a press release.
The initiative has received the support of Prof Jagadish Kumar Patnaik, Vice-Chancellor, NU and Chief Patron of the club, and Dr Abemo, Registrar, NU and Patron of the Club.
Speaking on the occasion, Lanuzulu, President of the Lumami Campus Sports Club, said the FIFA World Cup live screening serves as the kick-off event for the forthcoming LCSC Sports Meet 2026. He expressed confidence that the initiative would create a lively and sports-loving atmosphere across the campus while encouraging greater participation in future sporting activities.
Lanuzulu also acknowledged the dedicated efforts of the organising committee members Akala, General Secretary, Hukheto, Assistant General Secretary, Medo and Yanpo, whose commitment and teamwork have been instrumental in organising the event.
With football enthusiasts gathering each match day, the initiative is expected to further strengthen the spirit of unity, friendship and sportsmanship among the NU community.
It may be mentioned that ever since its inception on September 18, 2012, at the University's headquarters Lumami, LCSC has been organising sports activities culminating with the yearly annual tournament.
