We were split into groups arising from both known and unknown reasons. And even after so long years of decades we still remain split. As a matter of fact, so long has the process of reconciliation been. Reconciliation itself is Christian in nature. CNBC, FNR arose so as to integrate the disintegrated Nagas through humble forgiveness and they remain true to their commitment; so are Churches and several other Organizations. Peace and reconciliation is their motto or slogan. However, the very term ‘reconciliation’ seems to have been misused and defiled by so many individual Nagas. It is spelled out by many Nagas without being cautious of what it actually is. So no fruition of it has arrived at in our land in spite of how longing and how desirous of it we have been.
At this juncture let us make a scrutiny by revisiting. The serpent was craftier than any other wild animals that Gad had created. It was intellectual with calibers of tact and skill. In the like manner, Jesus’ tempter was with all calibers of tact and skill. It even had the scripture memorized in its memory. As such, sweet honey was on the very margin of their lips to have the attention of the tempted drawn towards them. Their subtlety was entirely for disaster rather than building up. Consequently, horribly unfavorable was the outcome of the tempted, as known to all.
Today, the continuous splitting and obstinacy to be reconciled despite all utterances of reconciliation must be looked at as the very attempt of Satan. It might or might not be that the very intent of the heart of the serpent was to deceive. But, since, it was wiser than the rest, Satan made use of it in its attempt to shatter the world that was ‘very good’. Similarly, the faculty of the memory of the tempter was exceeding. It probably must have memorized the scripture more than any others just as the serpent which transcended all other wild animals.
However sweet, however forgiving and however reconciling the utterances of our mouth be, so long as we remain split, we are heading nowhere fellow Nagas, but only towards doom. Reconciliation which is Christian in nature must not be abused any longer. It must not be kept futile any longer. Any mode of splitting must be far removed from us.
No doubt, the wise serpent and the intellectual tempter of Jesus must have been revered and honored extensively for their intellect and caliber. And that was why, Eve was tempted. One must today discern whether our intellect, caliber, position etc. are in proper order logically. Are they in the hands of God or in our unawareness, in the care of Satan, the bringer of disaster?
The serpent well knew that Eve was crazy after the prohibited fruit. The tempter well knew that Jesus was famished or hungry. Therefore, they, taking the opportunity intervened to assure Eve and Jesus that they would be kept fed and contented. Eventually, Eve was deceived while Jesus withstood against it as known to all.
So many intellectuals and wise people are among us; and want of peace and reconciliation is our day. Knowing who we are and what our need is, the same wise deceivers may penetrate in our midst with all forgiving and reconciling slogans. Let us, therefore, be on our guard that we neither are deceivers nor the deceived bearing in mind that the deceiver as well as the deceived only achievement is calamity.
May God grant us all fortitude and discernment that we remain true and committed to our cause and finally be reconciled at the earliest!
