Pharmacies directed to maintain proper records
Dimapur, March 25 (MExN): A joint inspection of pharmacies in Dimapur town area was conducted by Drugs Control Officer, Dimapur along with District Administration and Dimapur Police on March 25 as part of Narcotic Co-Ordination Centre (NCORD) Activity.
During the inspection, the team checked Purchase Records of Schedule H1 Drugs and Narcotic Psychotropic Drugs, installation of CCTV and other necessary records as per Drugs & Cosmetic Act, 1940 and Drugs & Cosmetic Rules, 1945.
“Some Narcotic and Psychotropic Drugs were seized from defaulter pharmacies and warning issued to those without CCTV,” T Zubemo Kikon, Drugs Control Officer, Dimapur stated in a press release.
The team also advised pharmacies to take Indent Certificate from Drugs Control Office Dimapur and also directed whole-sellers and Distributors not to sell any Narcotic & Psychotropic Drugs without Indent Certificate from competent authority.
The team cautioned that anyone found violating will be booked as per the provision of Drugs & Cosmetic Act, 1940 and the Rules made there under, and will also lead to cancellation of Drug License.
“Such Joint Inspection of pharmacies will be carried regularly. All pharmacies are, therefore, directed to maintain proper records of purchase and sales of drugs,” the officer added.
