Wokha, March 25 (MExN): Medical Department, Wokha conducted special NCD screening drive at Wokha Town Baptist Church on March 23. 

A press release received here stated that during the drive, Dr N Mhonchan Kithan, Medical Superintendent, Dr Motsuo Memorial District Hospital Wokha (DMMDH) highlighted that in view of the escalating burden of Non-Communicable Disease (NCDs) in the country, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has launched an intensified special NCD screening campaign from February 20 to March 31. 

He said “this ambitions initiative aims to achieve 100% screening of all individuals age 30 years and above for preventing NDCs, including diabetes, hypertension and oral cancer, breast cancer and cervical cancer.” 

Dr Renathung Kithan, MO PHC Wozhuro, staff DMMDH, and Staff Health Centres under CMO participated in the campaign. Around 400 people were screened and treated.

Dr N Mhonchan Kithan, MS, DMMDH expressed gratitude to Rev Abemo Jungio Pastor Wokha Town Baptist Church for giving permission to conduct the drive and also thanked the stewards, WTBC choirs for assisting in campaign programme.
