DIMAPUR, MARCH 22 (MExN): The Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP) has called on both factions of the NSCN (Unification), led by N. Kitovi Zhimomi and Alezo Venuh, to avoid any violence that could undermine the peace achieved in Nagaland over recent years.
In an appeal, the NDPP expressed concern that any escalation of violence could negatively impact the ongoing talks regarding the Indo-Naga Political issue, which the people of the state are eagerly awaiting to see resolved. The party emphasized the importance of maintaining peace as key to the successful outcome of the political negotiations.
While appealing for restraint, the NDPP urged both groups to set aside their differences in the interest of achieving a permanent settlement for the Naga people. It also called for continued dialogue and deliberation, stressing that these efforts are critical to securing a peaceful future.
