
Dimapur, March 15 (MExN): The 4th North East Poetry Festival 2011 on the theme ‘child rights’ will begin with the inaugural programme from March 17 at 10:00 am at the North East Zone Cultural Complex, Dimapur.
The inaugural programme will be graced by Dr. Temsula Ao (Padma Shri) as chief guest in the presence of prominent poets from across the North East region of India. Day 1 of the afternoon session will include poetry readings by prominent poets including those who participated in the North East Poetry Competition, informed a press note.
It stated that the first session of day 2 will include a drawing competition for school children on the theme ‘child rights’ at 9 a.m. The second session of day 2 will include an interactive workshop on ‘child rights’ from 1:00 pm. The first session of the concluding day on the 19th would begin with a screening of a film show for children at 9:00 am. The closing function cum prize distribution will be held at 3:00 pm on March 19.
The signature campaign in support of child rights would be the attraction of the three-day festival and the public are invited to attend and write their messages of support on ‘child rights’ on the huge canvass. The event is being organized by the United Tribal Society with sponsorship from the Ministry of Culture, Government of India and the North East Zone Cultural Centre, Dimapur, the note said.
