Jorhat, June 10 (MExN): The North East Alliance for Leadership, Education and Social Transformation (NEALEAST) conducted its 43rd training session from June 8 to 10 at the headquarters of the Assam Valley Baptist Association (AVBA) at Nakachari in Jorhat district.
The organisers said the programme marked the seventh training session conducted exclusively for Tea Tribe communities in Assam under the aegis of the AVBA. Since 2017, NEALEAST has organised similar training programmes for Tea Tribe church leaders, women leaders and youth.
During the concluding session on Wednesday, Simon Majhi of Modhubon Baptist Church was installed as Youth Pastor for the AVBA ministry. The installation ceremony was conducted by Rev. Dr. Takatemjen Ao, Rev. Dr. Rabi Pame, Rev. Maong Lemtur and Rev. Huni Gogoi.
The AVBA acknowledged the support of Rev. L. Kijung Senso Mission of Lirmen Baptist Church for sponsoring the salary component of the newly installed youth pastor.
The main resource persons for the two-day workshop-cum-seminar for AVBA executive members were Rev. Dr. Takatemjen Ao, Rev. Dr. Rabi Pame and Rev. Maong Lemtur.
Altogether, 40 executive members of the Assam Valley Baptist Association, including pastors, participated in the training programme.
