Longleng, March 27 (MExN): A one-day block level community mobilization training for School Management Committee (SMC) and School Management and Development committee (SMDC) under EBRC Longleng was held at VCC and VDB conference hall, Longleng district on March 27. As per the DIPR report, the training was organised by Directorate of School Education Samagra Shiksha & Nagaland Education Mission the Lighthouse (NECTAR).

DEO Longleng, Tinumayang in his keynote address said the main function of the SMC/SMDC is to prepare the school as per the RTE Action which includes monitoring and encouraging the attendance and regularity of the Teachers management of the school and to recommend necessary action plans to the Government for the welfare of the school. 

He said that NECTAR project is the only scheme in the world, sponsored by the World Bank for the development of the schools in Nagaland to renovate and repair the infrastructure of the schools. He encouraged and challenged the community for their active participation and contributions in developing their respective schools.

Resource person from Samagar Shiksha and NECTAR presented various topics, covering important areas like ULLAS (Understanding Lif Long Achievement Society) - a new programme designed to equip young people with life skills for self-sustainability. The important of APAAR ID and Addhar enrollment for students were also emphasised during the programme.

Topic on (Teachers Attendance Monitoring System) Smile App, Beacon School, Light House School Complex EMIS, ROLES and Responsibilities of SMC/SMDC and the need for it in the school was also shared. The training programme concluded with an interaction with the participants pouring out constructive feedback and suggestions.

A number of 115 participants attended the training programme. The resource persons were Assistant Director DoSE, Imtisangla, Sentinaro, Nectar and Akum, State MIS Samagra.
