The Nagaland Football Association (NFA) held a Special General Body Meeting at the Conference Hall of NFA in Kohima on December 13.
The meeting was attended by representatives of 14 Member District Football Associations and was chaired by NFA president K Neibou Sekhose.
During the meeting, the President presented detailed reports on the Nagaland Super League (NSL), the 24th Dr. T Ao Inter-District Football Championship, National Futsal Championship and selection of 2 players from State Champion, Aphuyemi FC for the National Futsal Team camp and the recently concluded Dr. T Ao Junior Girls National Football Championship 2025-26 Tier-2, the 1st National Tournament hosted by Nagaland.
During the meeting, Sekhose urged all affiliated district football associations to strictly adhere to the rules and regulations governing the association as mandated by the All India Football Federation (AIFF) Constitution and to prepare for the consequent upcoming changes.
He also emphasised the need to promote grassroots football across the state, with particular focus on training junior teams, upgrading coaching standards, and improving the quality of referees.
Special emphasis was laid on the development and training of junior girls’ and women’s football as well as on efficient and proper implementation of CRS/CMS in the state.
The meeting also discussed plans to begin the 2nd Edition of the Nagaland Super League 2026 in the early part of next year.
Sekhose also announced that the association has decided to introduce the NFA Awards from next year to recognise contributions to football development in the state.
The meeting also featured approval for constitution of several working committees.
Various District Football Association Presidents and representatives shared their views and suggestions during the interactive session. The meeting concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by NFA Joint Secretary to L Shahoto Yimchunger.
The meeting was also significant as it marked the inauguration of the NFA office by NFA officials and appointment of important office functionaries.
