Maligaon, June 27 (MExN): Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) has commissioned architectural facade lighting at Lumding Railway Station as part of its efforts to enhance passenger amenities and modernise railway infrastructure.

The project features the installation of energy-efficient RGB LED facade lighting with programmable illumination effects, providing uniform lighting across the station frontage, domes, columns and other architectural elevations, an NFR statement said on Saturday.

The lighting system also includes weatherproof outdoor fittings and cabling to ensure reliable operation in all weather conditions.

According to the railway, the newly installed facade lighting enhances the station's aesthetic appeal while promoting sustainable infrastructure through the use of long-life LED technology, which is expected to reduce maintenance requirements and ensure energy-efficient illumination.

NFR said the illuminated appearance has transformed Lumding Junction into a distinctive landmark, reflecting the zone's commitment to providing modern infrastructure and improving the overall passenger experience.

The project forms part of NFR's ongoing efforts to combine functionality with aesthetic improvements in developing railway stations that are modern, sustainable and visually appealing.

The railway said the illuminated station has given Lumding Junction a distinct identity while enhancing the travel experience through eco-friendly and passenger-centric infrastructure. It added that NFR remains committed to developing world-class railway facilities and improving passenger amenities across the region.
