NFR extends festival special train services

Maligaon, August 30 (MExN): The Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) has extended the services of three pairs of Festival Special trains to provide additional travel options and facilitate passenger movement during the upcoming festive season.

The extended services include train nos. 05736/05735 (Katihar–Amritsar–Katihar), 05932/05931 (Dibrugarh–Kolkata–Dibrugarh) and 03407/03408 (Bhagalpur–Katihar–Bhagalpur). The services have been extended in view of the expected passenger rush during the festive and extra-rush season.

Train no. 05736 (Katihar–Amritsar) will operate 12 additional trips from September 9 to November 25, while train no. 05735 (Amritsar–Katihar) will make 12 additional trips from September 11 to November 27.

Train no. 05932 (Dibrugarh–Kolkata) will run 13 additional trips from September 5 to November 28. In the return direction, train no. 05931 (Kolkata–Dibrugarh) will make 13 additional trips from September 7 to November 30. The two trains will operate with a 22-coach composition.

Meanwhile, train nos. 03407/03408 (Bhagalpur–Katihar–Bhagalpur) will continue to operate daily, with their services extended for 94 trips in each direction from August 29 to November 30.

NFR said the extended services would provide additional travel options and help ease congestion on busy routes during the festive season.
