Maligaon, May 26 (MExN): The Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) has extended the services of the Secunderabad–Naharlagun weekly summer special train and announced a new daily summer special service between Katihar and Bhagalpur to manage the additional rush of passengers during the summer season.
According to an NFR release, train no. 07046 (Secunderabad–Naharlagun) weekly special has been extended for five additional trips and will run from May 29 to June 26, 2026.
In the return direction, train no. 07047 (Naharlagun–Secunderabad) weekly special will operate from June 1 to June 29, 2026. The trains will continue to run with the existing schedule, timings, composition, and stoppages.
NFR also announced the introduction of a daily summer special train service between Katihar and Bhagalpur from May 27 to June 1, 2026.
Train no. 03407 (Bhagalpur–Katihar) Special will depart from Bhagalpur at 7 am and reach Katihar at 1 pm on the same day. In the return direction, train no. 03408 (Katihar–Bhagalpur) Special will leave Katihar at 2:10 pm and arrive at Bhagalpur at 8:20 pm.
The train will operate as an unreserved special train with 13 general coaches.
According to the railway authorities, the extended Secunderabad–Naharlagun service is expected to ease passenger congestion, reduce waiting lists, and improve travel convenience for passengers travelling between the northeastern region and southern India.
Similarly, the Katihar–Bhagalpur summer special is expected to provide additional travel options and improve passenger movement between the two cities and intermediate stations during the peak summer travel period.
Passengers have been advised to verify train schedules, stoppages, and timings through the IRCTC website and official social media platforms of the Northeast Frontier Railway before commencing their journey.
