NFR hosts 31st RAISA national conference, medical meet in Maligaon

Maligaon, April 1 (MExN): The Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) hosted the 31st Annual National Conference of the Railway Association of ISA (RAISA), along with the NFR Zonal Medical Conference, on March 28 at Luitgarh Railway Officers Club, Nambari.

The two-day event brought together around 150 doctors from across Indian Railways and leading medical institutions, focusing on the theme “Evidence Based Practice”.

The conference was inaugurated by Director General of Railway Health Services Dr Jagdish Chandra, who highlighted the importance of standardised, data-driven medical protocols to improve healthcare delivery for railway employees and passengers.

The event was attended by NFR General Manager Chetan Kumar Shrivastava and Principal Chief Medical Director Dr Swapna Boro Daimari, underscoring the zone’s commitment to advancing medical excellence.

Scientific sessions, coordinated by Dr Somnath Saha, focused on translating clinical research into practical healthcare applications. The conference also featured contributions from the Railway Society of Anaesthesiologists, particularly in perioperative care and pain management.

The event was organised under the leadership of Medical Director of Central Hospital, Maligaon, Dr B P Deka, along with a team from the hospital, facilitating knowledge exchange and collaboration among participants.

In his concluding remarks, Dr Pijush Sarkar of Central Hospital, Maligaon, expressed gratitude to participants and said the insights shared would contribute to improving healthcare services across Indian Railways.
