Maligaon, November 4 (MExN): The Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) on Monday inaugurated the 68th Men’s and 48th Women’s All India Inter Railway Basketball Championship 2025 at its sports complex in Maligaon.
The championship, organised by the Northeast Frontier Railway Sports Association (NFRSA), will continue until November 11, a railway spokesperson said.
NFR General Manager Chetan Kumar Shrivastava inaugurated the event in the presence of senior officials and players from across the country, the spokesperson said.
The tournament has drawn 20 men's teams and 14 women's teams, comprising over 500 participants, including referees, selectors and observers, the official said.
The men's matches will be held from November 3 to 10, while the women's championship will run from November 6 to 11, the spokesperson added.
The Railway Board has nominated 27 referees, supported by six selectors and two observers, for the smooth conduct of the tournament, the official said.
