Maligaon, June 1 (MExN): The Tinsukia Division of Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) has completed 10.61 kilometres of Through Sleeper Renewal (TSR) work during May 2026, marking a significant achievement in track infrastructure maintenance.

The sleeper renewal was carried out using a Track Relaying Train (TRT) machine in the Moranhat-Dibrugarh section and is among the division’s notable performances in recent times, an official release said.

According to NFR, the work was completed through the effective utilisation of 21 traffic blocks during the month, including nine night blocks, enabling uninterrupted progress of the renewal programme.

Officials said the achievement was made possible through close coordination among various departments, efficient deployment of manpower and machinery, smooth shunting operations, and the simultaneous execution of signalling and overhead traction works.

The successful completion of the project is expected to enhance track safety and operational reliability in the Moranhat-Dibrugarh section under the Tinsukia Division.

NFR said the renewed track infrastructure would contribute to smoother train operations and improved ride quality for passengers, reaffirming its commitment to maintaining high standards of safety, efficiency and passenger comfort.
