NHIDCL provides 2 ambulances to PHCs in Mon district

Mon, January 23 (MExN): The National Highways and Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited (NHIDCL), Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH), Government of India, has provided two ambulances under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative to Primary Health Centre (PHC) Tizit and PHC Wakching in Mon district.

Deputy Commissioner, Mon, Wennyei Konyak, NCS, expressed gratitude to NHIDCL for the gesture and formally handed over the keys of the ambulances to the Chief Medical Officer (CMO), Mon. He appealed to the concerned authorities to take proper ownership of the vehicles, ensure their judicious use and deploy them effectively to cater to the healthcare needs of the people.

Thanking NHIDCL for the support, the CMO, Mon, said the ambulances would significantly strengthen the district’s emergency response system, particularly in remote and hard-to-reach areas. He said timely transportation of patients to healthcare facilities is crucial for saving lives and the new ambulances would help reduce delays during medical emergencies, accidents and critical health conditions.

The CMO added that the initiative would be especially beneficial for pregnant women, elderly patients, accident victims and individuals requiring urgent medical attention.

It was also recalled that NHIDCL had earlier donated 24 Basic Life Support (BLS) ambulances to the Government of Nagaland in April 2021 and four more ambulances to the Nagaland Police in October 2021 as part of its CSR efforts.

The ambulances were flagged off by the Deputy Commissioner to their respective locations, marking a significant step towards improving emergency medical response and healthcare delivery in Mon district.
