Niuland, June 25 (MExN): The Sand Stockist and Supplier Union, Niuland District, has announced its new team of office bearers following a general meeting held at Niuland on June 22.
The newly elected team will serve a five-year term from 2026 to 2031. The union also resolved to streamline sand supply in the district and curb illegal practices.
The new office bearers are: President, Kikato Awomi; Vice-President, Unoka Sumi; General Secretary, Khetoshe Swu; Joint Secretary, Vikheto Uto Chishi; Finance Secretary, Kiyelho; and Executive Members, Phuton and Qhevika.
Speaking on behalf of the union, President Kikato Awomi said, "Our priority is to ensure that sand supply in Niuland remains legal, transparent, and affordable for the public. We will strictly follow government guidelines and take steps against illegal mining. We appeal to all members, contractors, and the public for their cooperation."
The union further informed that it will maintain proper records of sand stock and rates in accordance with administrative directives and extend full support to developmental works in the district.
