Vilanuo Angela Yhome, President of the Naga Mothers Association (NMA) passed away on July 31 at around 8:00 a.m.
Yhome assumed office as President of the NMA on August 16, 2023.
Condolences and tributes poured in on Friday following her demise. "Deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Ms. Vilanuo Angela Yhome, President of the Naga Mothers Association, this morning.
She dedicated herself to the welfare of the people and made a lasting contribution through her service and leadership.
My family and I extend our heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family, friends, colleagues, and all members of the Naga Mothers Association during this difficult time. We pray that they find strength and comfort as they mourn this great loss.
May the departed soul rest in eternal peace," Deputy Chief Minister Y Patton tweeted.
Describing Yhome as a towering personality who dedicated her life to the service of society until her last breath, Rajya Sabha MP S Phangnon Konyak said that she would be remembered for her selfless contributions and exemplary public service. "...Her passing leaves an immense void, and we remain profoundly grateful for her remarkable life and enduring legacy...," Konyak tweeted.
Hekani Jakhalu, MLA and Advisor, Industries & Commerce, and Moatoshi Longkumer, MLA and Advisor, Labour, Employment & Skill Development and Excise, also paid their tributes and offered condolences to the bereaved family members.
