The SOP was drafted in line with the “Guidelines for Quarantine faculties COVID-19” of the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare on Monday, an official source said.

All the passengers entering Manipur will undergo thermal screening at the entry points to the state (at Mao and at Jiribam). They will again undergo secondary screening by medical teams in the home districts on arrival at the designated locations.

All the asymptomatic passengers after the screening will be sent for community quarantine or institutional quarantine for 14 days.  "Home quarantine will not be adopted", the SOP stated while asserting that strict quarantine must be followed by all individuals.

Any symptomatic passenger having ILI (Influenza Like Infections) symptoms like fever, cough, sore throat, runny nose etc. will be placed in isolated facility for testing. Risk profiling of incoming persons to be done by the medical staffs or state rapid response team for COVID-19 will be a continuous process, the SOP stated.

The symptomatic person(s) will be transported in separate vehicle(s) to the isolated facility under a prescribe procedures of the department, it stated.

At the designated screening centres, staff will be deployed in shifts timings so as to ensure proper screening of all returnees without any congestion and overcrowding.

For passengers arriving in large numbers by train, respective district administrations will deploy sufficient number of medical teams to avoid congestion and overcrowding at the screening centres.
