Guwahati, May 21 (MExN): As part of the ‘Janjatiya Garima Utsav – Celebrating 12 Years of the Vikshit Bharat Journey’, the TRIFED Regional Office, NER, Guwahati, organised a Tribal Artisans Empanelment Mela (TAeM) and awareness outreach programme here at the Indian Institute of Entrepreneurship (IIE), Lalmati.

The event, held under the theme ‘Jan Bhagidaari – Sabse Door Sabse Pehle’, witnessed the participation of over 50 tribal artisans, including youth entrepreneurs and women-led tribal enterprises, along with representatives from Van Dhan Vikas Kendras (VDVKs). The participating artisans were empanelled in the presence of experts from key stakeholder departments such as IIE, the Tribal Research Institute (TRI), and the Weavers Service Centre.

The outreach programme focused on creating awareness about market linkage opportunities through TRIFED and its ‘Tribes India’ brand. The initiative was well received by the attending artisans, who appreciated TRIFED for organising the TAeM and the awareness drive aimed at integrating remote tribal communities into mainstream markets.
