National Quality Assurance Standards External Assessors have arrived to evaluate the Khehokhu Health & Wellness Centre in Dimapur.
Dimapur, August 11 (MExN): A welcome programme for the National Quality Assurance Standards (NQAS) External Assessors was held at Khehokhu Health & Wellness Centre on Monday, as part of preparations for the NQAS National Level Assessment 2026.
The external assessors, Dr Rajkumar Kapan and Dr Bijan Das will evaluate the Health & Wellness Centre on compliance with NQAS guidelines, focusing on quality of service delivery, patient care, infection control, documentation and overall facility management, according to an IEC Bureau release from the Office of the Chief Medical Officer, Dimapur.
Addressing the staff, the assessors encouraged them not to be apprehensive about the assessment, clarifying that NQAS is not an examination or a fault-finding exercise, but a supportive process aimed at helping the centre improve further and provide quality care to the community. They appreciated the teamwork and community involvement at Khehokhu HWC and shared valuable inputs for the upcoming national-level assessment.
The programme was chaired by Dr A Narola, Medical Officer In-charge of Kuhuboto PHC, and began with an invocation by Pastor Kughavi Katty, who offered prayers seeking God's blessings upon the assessors and the centre to successfully achieve NQAS certification.
Dr Y Kheshika, Deputy Chief Medical Officer, in his welcome address expressed gratitude to the assessors and highlighted the efforts of the health team and the community in strengthening primary healthcare services.
A short presentation was given by Hokiye Yepthomi, Village Chief, who spoke on the role of community support in maintaining the facility and ensuring better health outcomes for the village.
Tiala, Community Health Officer (CHO), gave an overview of the Health & Wellness Centre, briefing on the comprehensive healthcare services being provided under Ayushman Bharat, including preventive, promotive and curative care, non-communicable disease (NCD) screening, and outreach activities.
The programme concluded with a benediction by Hovitoli Aye, Woman Pastor. Earlier, a special song was presented by the Khehokhu Village Self-Help Group (SHG).
Other officials present included Dr Lhishelo Tsuhah, DPO-NCD, Dr Ayangla Saku, DPO CD-1, Dr Atoli, MO(AYUSH) Kuhuboto PHC, staffs under DPMU Dimapur and BPMU Niuland.
