Winners of the State level Youth Fest Red Ribbon Quiz competition held on October 27 at 2k Hotel, Kohima.
Kohima, October 27 (MExN): The State level Youth Fest Red Ribbon Quiz competition was held on October 27 at 2k Hotel, Kohima. The quiz was participated by 12 teams from 12 districts of Nagaland, who were winners in their own respective districts, stated a press release.
The competition was organised by Nagaland State AIDS Control Society (NSACS) under the aegis of National AIDS Control organisation. The quiz competition was organized for the students of 8th, 9th and 11th with the aim to provide comprehensive knowledge on HIV & AIDS and STI/RTI, by providing interactive platform for information exchange on issues related to Health & Well being, to remove Social Taboos & myths, To discuss reproductive Health issues, To provide knowledge on diet & nutrition, Sanitation and hygiene, and to reduce stigma and discrimination against People Living with HIV.
During the event, the Project Director, Nagaland State AIDS Control Society Dr Ahu Sekhose encouraged the students to be the agents of change and be responsible to impart HIV & AIDS information amongst their peers. While giving the key note address, Metevinuo Sakhrie, Joint Director (IEC & MS) NSACS mentioned that the quiz competition was a part of the Youth Fest which is an ongoing event all over India. She encouraged the students to create awareness and to have correct and full information about HIV to remain HIV free. The programme was moderated by Puthenhenmei, Assistant Director (Youth Affairs), NSACS.
The first position was won by Yintolungbe Rangkau and Ihungzeule of Baptist Higher Secondary School, Peren with a cash prize of Rs 10,000 certificates and trophy. The 2nd position was won by Aldrin Lerthankhum Zote and Cheliso U Khutsoh of Mezhur Higher Secondary School, Kohima with a cash prize of Rs 7,000 certificates and trophy. The 3rd position was won by Mangbo Konyak and Pinlong of Konjong Higher Secondary School, Mon with a cash prize of Rs 7,000 certificates and trophy.
The 1st position winner will be representing Nagaland State at the Regional level Red Ribbon quiz competition in Guwahati.
