NSL imposes sanctions on Red Scars FC and Referee for violations in NSL match

CHÜMOUKEDIMA, MARCH 1 (MExN): The Nagaland Super League (NSL) Technical Committee has announced decisions regarding Match No- 24, which took place on February 26 at the Chümoukedima Football Ground between Red Scars FC and Sechu Zubza FC.

The committee addressed several incidents during the match, including an unsporting behavior violation by Red Scars FC player Thanggousang Hangsing (Jersey No- 21). Hangsing was substituted in the 89th minute for Pulovi (Jersey No- 17) but re-entered the field without the referee’s permission and later deliberately left the field. As a result, Hangsing has been penalized with a Yellow Card for unsporting conduct.

Additionally, the Red Scars FC team management was found to have violated substitution procedures, leading to a monetary fine imposed on the club for unsporting behavior. The match’s Main Referee, Vibek Chettri, has been relieved of his officiating duties for the remainder of the ongoing Nagaland Super League 2025. Other match officials involved in the game have been issued official cautions and are under observation. The committee also noted that players and support staff who made vocal complaints on the sidelines and outside the field of play are under caution. Further misconduct or repeated offenses will result in stricter disciplinary actions.
