Dimapur, August 1 (MExN): The Naga Women Hoho Dimapur (NWHD) has hailed the ongoing crackdown on illegal sex rackets in the district, commending the prompt action taken by the police in addressing human trafficking and the sexual exploitation of women and minors.
In a statement issued here, the NWHD stressed that the “safety, dignity and well-being of women and minors” remain its foremost concern, and urged the police to ensure that such actions are not confined to isolated incidents.
The appeal comes in the wake of a raid conducted on July 31 by the ADCP (Women & Juvenile), the Officer-in-Charge of the Women Police Station, and other personnel under the Commissioner of Police, Dimapur. The operation led to the arrest of 11 women and three men.
NWHD stated that such timely interventions are vital in protecting vulnerable individuals and maintaining the safety and dignity of society. The organisation also acknowledged the role of the media in responsibly covering the operation and helping raise public awareness on the issue.
