On dissolution of the USLB

The Dy. Kilonser, GPRN on behalf of the Sangtam Region strongly condemns the acts of T.T.Among, Dy.Kilonser, Tsichomomg, Tatar and Sangtam Region CAO, Vitoshe of the IM group for the dissolution of the United Sangtam Likhun Bumji (USLB), and terms their action as unconstitutional in the minds of the Sangtam community. Further, the IM group should be aware of the very fact that the same tribe and the said organization (USLB) existed prior to the formation of the IM organization headed by Issac and Th. Muivah in the year 1988.

Most regretfully, to authenticate my claim in this issue, the IM group, around 30 of their cadres, hijacked the 9th November 2005 meeting of the USLB at Chare Town to discuss the then prevailing situation in the region. Again, around 10 cadres of IM-group hijacked the Sangtam Union Dimapur meeting which was held at the residence of the former Minister T. Rothrong and taking advantage of the authoritative attitude of the IM-group, Mr.Tsichomomg prevailed upon to take the Chairmanship of the Sangtam Union Dimapur.

The NSCN Sangtam Region also takes strong exception to the press statement in a local daily on the 30th November 2005, by Sangso Mongzar in regard to the meetings’ proceedings. Whereas, Mr.Sangso Mongzar’s press statement was outside the purview of the said meeting and was in the interests of some self-centered individuals/groups. And therefore, the NSCN Sangtam Region warns Mr.Sangso or any other individuals not to mislead the Naga general Public by propagating such misconceptions.

Lastly, I on behalf of the Sangtam Region question the creditability of the present USLB Executive members in the long run. And if the so called executive members of the USLB are not in a position to reform or determine their position in strengthening the USLB, the NSCN Sangtam Region advice the present executive members of the USLB to resign from their own respective post and join the terrorist group of the IM so as to let the Sangtam community to remain in peace at large.

Seochem Sangtam, Dy. Kilonser
On behalf of Sangtam Region GPRN/NSCN
