Dimapur, August 1 (MExN): The Oting Citizens and the family of the late Pongshing K on Saturday expressed gratitude to individuals, community organisations and volunteers who assisted during the search and recovery operation following his drowning in the Tiru Valley flash flood on July 19.
In a statement, they said Pongshing K lost his life after being swept away during a flash flood in the Tiru Valley, leaving an irreparable void in the lives of his family and the community.
The family said the support, solidarity and assistance extended during the tragedy provided them with strength and comfort during a difficult period.
They conveyed special appreciation to the Upper Tiru Village Council for its prompt response, coordination and support throughout the search and recovery operation. The statement also acknowledged the efforts of local divers, who carried out extensive search operations under difficult conditions.
Gratitude was extended to local churches and civil society organisations for providing spiritual support, logistical assistance and standing in solidarity with the bereaved family.
The family also thanked the Konyak Union for extending financial assistance and emotional support. Expressing appreciation for the prayers, generosity and compassion shown by all those who contributed during the tragedy, the family prayed for God's blessings upon everyone who extended support in their time of grief.
