Dear Fellow Nagas, today, as we celebrate Naga Republic Day, we gather to reflect on our journey, our struggles, and our achievements. We stand united as one Naga nation, proud of our rich history and determined to shape our future. We remember the sacrifices of our forefathers who fought tirelessly for our rights and freedom. Their legacy inspires us to work towards a prosperous, peaceful, and united Nagaland. We honor their memory and reaffirm our commitment to the Naga cause.
As we look ahead, we see opportunities and challenges. Our resources, our culture, and our strategic location are strengths that can drive development and growth. Let us harness these strengths to build a better future for all Nagas. We must work together to address issues that affect our daily lives — education, healthcare, infrastructure, and economic opportunities. Let us support each other, empower our youth, and uplift our communities.
Our history is a testament to our resilience and determination. Let us draw strength from our past, face the present with courage, and shape the future with hope. However, we also acknowledge the challenges we face today. The ongoing Kuki-Naga confrontation in Manipur and the tensions between different Naga groups are concerns that need immediate attention.
The recent abduction of 20 Naga people in Manipur and the violence in Ukhrul district are stark reminders of the need for peace and reconciliation, we urge all parties to work — towards a peaceful resolution and to prioritize the well-being of our people. The Naga peace talks with the Government of India are ongoing, and we hope for a meaningful convergence that respects our unique history and identity.
We appreciate the efforts of our leaders and the international community in supporting our cause. Let us prioritize education and skill development, empowering our youth to compete globally. Let us prioritize entrepreneurship and innovation, creating opportunities for economic growth. Let us preserve our culture and traditions, passing them to future generations.
