Wokha, August 22 (MExN): A free medical camp-cum-awareness programme was organised by Longsa Baptist Church in collaboration with the Medical Department, Wokha, at the Longsa Baptist Church premises on August 22, providing health screening and services to more than 200 beneficiaries.
Delivering a health talk, Chief Medical Officer, Wokha, Dr Thungchangbemo Ezung encouraged participants to exercise regularly for physical health and mental well-being and said regular intake of a nutritious and balanced diet could help prevent diseases.
Patrick W Tungoe, DRP NUN LWS, DAPCU Wokha, conducted an awareness session on HIV & AIDS as part of the Intensified Information, Education and Communication campaign during the camp.
N Thungchibemo Ezung, Secretary, Longsa Baptist Church, said the camp was organised to create health awareness and provide health screening to the community.
Services provided during the camp included regular medical check-ups, blood sugar testing, HIV testing, blood pressure monitoring, generation of CMHIS cards, chest X-rays, sputum collection and distribution of free medicines, among others.
More than 200 beneficiaries availed themselves of the services.
