Over 21,500 electors in draft roll for 28 Koridang A/C bye-election

Kohima, January 3 (MExN): The final electoral roll for the 28 Koridang (ST) Assembly Constituency in Mokokchung district, where a bye-election is due, will be published on February 14, 2026, according to a schedule released by the office of the Chief Electoral Officer, Nagaland.

The Integrated Draft Electoral Roll was published on Saturday, January 3, 2026. The period for filing claims and objections is open from January 3 to 24, 2026. All claims and objections will be disposed of by February 7, 2026.

As per the draft roll, the total number of electors stands at 21,586. This comprises 21,461 general electors (10,956 male and 10,630 female) and 125 service electors (124 male and 1 female.) 

Electors and Applicants can file claims and objections in Forms 6/7/8 as the case maybe with the concerned Booth Level Officer (BLO) or with the AERO and ERO. Forms are available for download in ECI and CEO's website. Applications can also be filed or submitted online through www.voters.eci.gov.in (links are provided in the ECI and CEO's website).

The draft roll for the constituency is accessible for public viewing on the voters' portal at https://voters.eci.gov.in/download-eroll?stateCode=S17.

There are a total of 30 notified polling stations in the 28 Koridang (ST) Assembly Constituency. 

The Electoral Registration Officer (ERO) for the constituency will share the list of claims and objections with recognized political parties on a weekly basis.

The process allows for appeals under Section 24 of the Representation of People Act, 1950 : An appeal shall lie from any decision of the ERO to the District Magistrate u/s 24(a) of the RP Act, 1950 and a second appeal under Section 24(b) against the decision of the first Appellate authority shall lie to the CEO, in the manner prescribed under Rule 27 of the Registration of Electors Rules, 1960.
