Kohima, January 5 (MExN): “Considering the negative effects of alcohol on the overall health of individuals and the peace, tranquility and social fabric of the society,” the Peraciezie Parent Body, Peraciezie Mothers’ Union and Peraciezie Youth Organization have resolved to impose a ban on the production, stock and sale of alcohol (both IMFL and local brew) within Peraciezie Colony jurisdiction with effect from February 1, 2020.
“This resolution is in conformity with the appeals made by various Church bodies, the Lhisemiapfü Mechü Krotho and the Rhdezou Council as well as the wishes of the residents of the colony in general. This resolution also complies with the Nagaland Liquor Total Prohibition Act (NLTP),” stated the joint press release issued by Visalie, GB Peraciezie Colony, Thejasenuo Kesiezie President Peraciezie Mothers' Union and Kevisetso Miachieo, Peraciezie Youth Organization.
“Individuals dealing in the production, stock and sale of alcohol within Peraciezie Colony jurisdiction are informed to take serious note of this resolution. Further, house owners are requested not to indulge in the trade or rent out their properties to individuals dealing in the illicit liquor business,” it added.
